Japan from August 1 introduces a ban on the import of gold from the Russian Federation

The ban on the import of gold from the Russian Federation to Japan, adopted earlier by the Japanese government, comes into force on August 1, according to a press release from the country’s Ministry of Finance.

“The updated notice of the ministry on this matter will take effect from August 1 this year,” the press release says.

According to the document, the ban on gold imports is introduced on the basis of a decision taken on July 5 by the Cabinet of Ministers of Japan, as part of measures to freeze the assets of persons related to the Russian Federation.
